Principals
Trudy Matthews, Founder (retired)
Trudy earned her CITT Diploma in 1987 and was in the first graduating class of the Professional Logistician program (P.Log). She served as president of the CITT Ontario Chapter and Chairman of the CITL Toronto.
Having worked in transportation for a variety of global corporations, she took a leap of faith in 1995 by starting her own company. Her aim was to help firms find solutions and cost savings to their overall transportation budgets, while providing personalized customer service. She dedicated over 30 years to building the legacy of Langmat & Associates, prior to her retirement in December 2025.
Trudy enjoys travelling, adventure hiking, biking and playing pickle ball.
Scott Langen, Co-founder (retired)
Scott has over 40 years of practical hands on experience and had many occupations before joining Langmat. He was an International Transportation Sales Rep, Marketing Manager, Manager at a pool car cross dock operation and Manager at production assembly plant. He also served on Board of Directors for the Kitchener Traffic Club.
Scott’s in-depth knowledge of the transportation industry, winning personality and ‘gift of gab’ helped to open the doors of many firms who invited Langmat in to review their transportation needs. With that expertise he helped grow Langmat into the success story it is today.
His favorite pastimes are playing squash, adventure hiking and enjoying time with friends and family.
Terri Lynn Lawson, Director of Operations
Terri Lynn earned her degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and worked in a variety of customer service positions prior to joining the team at Langmat & Associates in 1999. Since then she has gained a vast knowledge in all areas of logistics. She is very detail oriented and focused on delivering excellence in customer service to all clients.
In December of 2025 with Trudy Matthew’s retirement, Terri Lynn purchased and took over Langmat & Associates, to carry on the tradition of excellence in logistics.
She enjoys spending time with family and time in the outdoors gardening, biking, and sitting by the camp fire.
Our Story
From a young age, Trudy Matthews was heavily involved in the logistics business. She worked for several large global corporations in the fields of chemical, food, automotive, steel, and others, in addition to being involved with the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation and Canadian Industrial Transportation League. Trudy gained an extensive knowledge of the transportation and logistics world. One interesting note for Trudy is that she was part of the team which lobbied for the transition from 48ft tractor trailers to 53ft and double 53ft tractor trailers.
Trudy became a go-to contact for things all logistics related. Langmat was born out of the desire to do things a little differently. She took a leap of faith in 1995 and began her own business, with the mandate to provide custom solutions to her clients’ logistics needs. Over time, the services evolved from simply consulting to anything from managing freight and warehousing to customs documentation preparation, freight audit and increasing supply chain efficiency. Terri Lynn Lawson joined Langmat & Associates in 1999 and found that logistics was something she truly enjoyed and excelled at. Over the years she learned the business well, with Trudy as her mentor. When Trudy decided to retire after 30 years of dedication, Terri Lynn purchased and took over Langmat to carry on the proud legacy of service excellence.
Today, Langmat & Associates continues to pride themselves on knowledge, problem solving, customer service and efficiency. Langmat & Associates continues to be a success in logistics management by building long-standing relationships with their clients and service providers.
